Is this to be expected? Does OpenCL give that poor performance under Resolve with Nvidia ? using iStat Menus it used to show my previous 640 card at about 70% gpu load playing back raw and 100% with say a few nodes and realtime performance dropping down to 20fps. even prores media plays back at 50% speed and 1080 raw is playing back at about 7 to 9 fps ( and i have checked that its using the correct gpu for processing ) This fixes the problem, however the playback speed is crazy slow. in Preferences > Video IO & GPU > GPU processing mode ) to OpenCL Even still images like jpg's will make the entire app crash.Ģ) I managed to fix this by swapping from the auto CUDA mode ( e.g. As soon as you view anything in the file viewer in the Media page, it will crash. So looking at the reviews of the new Maxwell cards & wanting something really future proof, as the nvidia web drivers are now out giving support for Maxwell cards on Mac, i purchased a gtx 970 4gbġ) You can't use CUDA without it crashing. I upgraded to Yosemite and after updating CUDA it seems to run ok.i decided that i wanted to always keep realtime performance, use more nodes and upgrade from lite to do noise reduction ( dongle in the post as we speak! ) It has performed fine, with 1080p dog raw footage it plays back fine but once you add a few nodes realtime performance drops off. Ok so i have a Mac Pro 2009 8 core with 32 gb of ram and have had an Nvidia gt640 2gb for a while. Hi Guys, first off have to say really loving Resolve these days!
